Questions for Act 1

Please post any questions or observations that you may have for Act 1. Look at what your peers have written and see if you can answer or comment on any of them.

Lady Macbeth

In the same vein as your first post, please write about Lady Macbeth in the first person as if she were from the 21st Century. What does she like to do for fun? What does she read? Watch? Websites? What are her views on the events that are occurring in the world. Please use your imagination based on what you know about her from the text.

Word Journal for Act 1

Please use what you have written about in the first three parts of your word journal for Act 1 and write your conclusions in the blog. Think about the following:

1. What character uses the word most often?

2. How does the denotation and connotation of the word change from character to
character?

3. Is there an unusual use of the word?

4. How does this word affect the act you studied?

When you are finished, comment on one of more of your classmates blogs. What parts to you like or agree with? What parts do you disagree with?

In the Beginning...

Welcome to the Macbeth blog site. During the course of our study, you will log into this site to complete questions or pose your thoughts about the text.

For your first post and after you have read 1.1-2, I would like you to use the text to try to decide what Macbeth would have been like in the 21st Century. Writing in the first person, what do you (as Macbeth) like to do in your spare time? For fun? What websites are your favorites? What music do you listen to? Why? What kinds of people do you hang out? Do you like to go yachting and play lawn games or something else? How might he feel about the war in Iraq? George Bush? Use these prompts as a starting point. Please write at least 8 sentences.
